Book Sale, August 7, 2010

On Saturday, August 7, 2010, we will hold a special four-hour book sale from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All items in the Community Room will be priced at 50¢. Books in the ongoing sale area will be sold at 50% off during this four hour sale.

Understanding Manga and Anime, March 21, 2010

Robin E. Brenner, author of Understanding Manga and Anime, will explain the basics about manga, which refers to serialized Japanese comics, and anime, which spans every genre of animation imaginable. Her commentary will include a brief history of Japanese comics and a description of the cultural differences accounting for the pervasive presence of manga and anime in Japan, relative to their niche market in the United States.
