In his book Overdosed America: The Broken Promise of American Medicine, Dr. Abramson warns about pharmaceutical and medical practices which are unnecessary or which put people at risk. He is particularly concerned about the credibility and influence of clinical research studies conducted in the commercial sector.

Dr. Abramson is on the clinical faculty at Harvard Medical School. His experiences as a physician began with the Public Health Service in Appalachia, changed to small-town private practice, then to Lahey Clinic.

His work on health policy began with a fellowship to study research design and design his own research, and includes past associate directorship of an HMO.

Copies of Overdosed America will be available for purchase and autograph at the program.
