Author Larry Tye covers the writers, artists, publishers, and performers who created and developed a champion born in a mythical world to triumph over the challenges of our world. For seventy-six years, Superman has assured successive generations that justice will prevail and wrongdoing will be thwarted. Is it surprising that the story took hold in the imagination of a victim of bullying?

Larry Tye is the author of the New York Times best-seller Satchel, as well as The Father of Spin, Home Lands, and Rising from the Rails, and co-author, with Kitty Dukakis, of Shock.

Fans of all ages are invited to listen to the presentation, and join in celebration of Superman's seventy-sixth birthday, complete with a birthday cake and balloons.
