Public Computers

The library’s public computers are free for general use. Please note that personal information on the computer will be automatically deleted when you log off. Nothing may be saved onto the computer. Please save any important information to your email, flash drive, or other device. The library has computers in several different areas:

  • The Reference Department has 18 available.
  • Catalog-only computers are available throughout the fiction, nonfiction and Children’s Room.

The Wi-Fi is free for public access. Please look for “Needham Library” as the appropriate Wi-Fi connection.

The Library Trustees and library staff wish to thank both the Friends of the Needham Public Library and the Library Foundation of Needham for their generous donations that made possible the library’s recent wireless upgrade and expansion and the Community Room audiovisual upgrade. Wireless service is now stable and available in every area of the library. The Community Room audiovisual components are now state-of-the-art and functioning well. Thank you Friends and Foundation for enriching everyone’s audio and visual experiences.

Chromebooks, Laptops and Hotspots

The Reference Department has 10 Chromebooks, 3 Laptops and 15 WiFi Hotspots available for borrowing. Needham residents can now request these items online at find.minlib.net, in person at the Reference Desk, or by calling 781-455-7559 ext. 502. They currently have a 2-week loan period and can be taken out individually or together.

The Chromebooks and hotspots were generously funded by the Library Foundation of Needham and the Friends of the Needham Public Library.
