An Evening With Doris Kearns Goodwin” was a special fundraiser for the Needham Free Public Library that took place on April 26, 2023 in Needham Town Hall. The Friends of the Needham Public Library presented the event in association with the Library Foundation of Needham and Needham High School. The event, hosted by Jared Bowen of Media Partner GBH, opened with Livingston Taylor singing “America the Beautiful” (words written by Needham native Katherine Lee Bates) and closed with a question and answer session between Ms. Goodwin and Needham High School students. Dr. Carla Hayden, Librarian of Congress, contributed this personal video to honor the occasion.
