Commercial photography, filming, or recording is not allowed in the Needham Free Public Library. Non-commercial photography, filming, or recording by patrons is allowed in public areas of the Library as long as:
- Any equipment associated with photography, filming, or recording must not obstruct library operations.
- Any equipment associated with photography, filming, or recording must not disturb patrons.
- Photography, filming, or recording of patrons may only take place with their express verbal or written consent and, in the case of a minor, of their parent or guardian.
Any request to photograph or film archival materials will be referred to the Archivist.
Library staff may halt any photography, filming, or recording that appears to interfere with the Library’s ability to conduct business or that compromises patron safety or use of the Library.
The Library frequently photographs, films, or records programs and events for its promotional purposes. Attendance at programs and events is considered consent to photograph, film, or record patrons. Library staff will make an effort to inform patrons when photographing, filming, or recording events and will make an effort to accommodate those who wish to opt out.
Exceptions to this policy may be granted at the discretion of the Director, subject to all applicable laws and regulations.
