The Needham Free Public Library recognizes the importance of being a resource of information for the community and its role in helping to build a stronger Needham. To that end, the Library provides a bulletin board and other avenues for community organizations to market their events and resources at the discretion of the Library Director and/or Trustees. The Library supports the tenets of intellectual freedom embodied in the free speech provisions of the United States Constitution and outlined in the Library’s mission statement and the American Library Association’s Library Bill of Rights. The Library does not endorse viewpoints expressed nor does it assume responsibility for the accuracy of information allowed under this policy.
The community bulletin board and other limited spaces within the Library may be used by local groups, individuals, or businesses that adhere to and understand the following rules:
- All items for posting or passive distribution must be identified with the name of the group, business, or individual sharing the information.
- Items must be submitted at the Circulation Desk, allowing up to three business days for review and posting or placement.
- Due to limited space, events and information will be posted for up to one month, and Needham events will be given preference.
